The sunsets over a field of raps (rapeseed) flowers between Moerfelden and Walldorf, Germany near the Frankfurt International Airport. In the spring, fields of raps are seen all over Germany. The brilliant yellow flowers are always a welcome sight after the long gray German winters. Raps are grown commercially throughout Germany and much of Europe. The seeds are used to produce a vegetable oil that has many commercial uses. Canola oil is also produced from the seeds.
